It’s a bonus for us to work in beautiful places. Our latest project was set at the Aspen Theatre in the stunning Colorado Rocky Mountains. United Scenic got back to our deep roots in theater by creating a ragtime set that was used for three separate shows. This project required moving platforms, sculpted brick, and installed faux finishes that included rusted steel truss. Everything was provided for a worn, distressed look and to create the appearance of being old and weathered.
Our clients were ecstatic to see how we transformed the setting to be just what they wanted. Like many jobs, this was not without its logistical challenges. Everything was set up in a tent in the John Denver Nature Preserve that was first converted into a theatre space. This was challenging, but everything went off without a hitch! We’re pleased that the shows were successful and the scenic delivered the backdrop they were looking for. Great to be working with our old friend and designer, Paul Black!
