Our old friends at Williams Sonoma hit us with a new twist recently to help support their sponsorship for the annual Bottle Rock Festival held in Napa Valley; create a functioning cooking set on a concert stage.
The biggest challenge this stage brought us was that it needed to be a fully operational kitchen as the event was hosting celebrity guest chefs, cooking demos and was all built on an outdoor stage.
Our team of scenic professionals took this challenge head on and engineered a fully working kitchen with 2 wall ovens, laminated countertop and a stove cooktop. In addition to it being functional, the team at United Scenic also created a solution to easily transport and rebuild the stage. This required that our team travel to Napa Valley over Memorial Day weekend as well as be on hand to custom fit the appliances.
The festival and the set were a huge success that included Ayesha Curry along with a surprise visit by her husband, Stephen (pictured above). The gang at Williams Sonoma was so pleased they asked us to keep this once temporary stage in storage for next years’ event!
